  • "In The Hands of African American Collectors: The Personal Treasures of Bernard and Shirley Kinsey" This exhibition, the second offering from our series, In the Hands of African American Collectors, offers a roadmap to the cultural journey and transformation faced by these collectors as they embrace and acquire art and artifacts. Within the context of their own history and the past that speaks to them, we discover how the Kinseys are changed and nurtured by what they chose to collect. From painful to see slave owner’s documents to brilliant, fiery expressions in sculpture to private glimpses into thoughts of the ancestors, the Kinsey Collection reflects our own rich cultural heritage which they have been driven to capture, inspire and sustain for future generations...more

  • "Orphans of the Rwanda Genocide: Portraits of Survival and Hope” Photographs by Jerry Berndt" The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels presents the photographic exhibit “Orphans of the Rwanda Genocide: Portraits of Survival and Hope.” The powerful photographs taken by Jerry Berndt explore the pain of the genocide contrasted with hopeful images of the orphans of Rwanda rebuilding their lives through marriages, birth, and healing. The exhibit will run from early July to early October.

    Presented by the Office of Justice and Peace and its Commission of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, and Catholic Relief Services (CRS).
